The Barcelona chair is among the most elegant and imposing of the chairs designed by German designer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969) which was developed for the German Pavilion at the 1929 International Exhibition in Barcelona. The Barcelona chair is usually in stock in black, white, ivory & chocolate brown. Red, tan & cognac available to order. There are two leather grades, standard (a high quality Italian top grain leather), & full aniline (a very smooth & soft finish, but very hard wearing)
The version of the Barcelona chair is absolutely top quality, the cushions are made from individual squares of full Italian leather, with leather backs (no ‘leather match’), hand stitched buttons, concealed zips and full leather straps. The legs and frame are the highest quality grade 304 polished steel.
