The collection features a series of consoles and mirrors in black or white lacquered resin with smoked glass top, clearly inspired by Baroque furniture, in clear contrast with the “pop” design of white ceramic sinks and the imposing white fibreglass bathtub which reinterprets the classic icon of the bar of soap, soft and rounded. Showcased for the first time earlier this year at Cersaie, the international exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings held in Bologna, Italy, the Wanders Collection is designed by none other than Marcel Wanders. Croatian Residential Project With A Stylishc

Jelenovac-Residence

The architects who worked on designing this house – DVA Arhitekta – describe their view on the project: “The house is positioned in a way that enables forming of a smaller garden which serves as a tampon zone between the traffic and big garden. The terrain slope generates house pedestal which comprises secondary facilities; the outside spaces, the entrance. Floor plan follows the geometry of the site and divides itself in two parts. Situated at the junction of two streets in Zagreb, Croatia, the elegant house with a smooth white facade that goes by the name Jelenovac Residence displays a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. The middle volume contains spiral staircase cladded in wood, who’s sculptural form of curved surfaces corresponds with the orthogonal system of the house in an unusually soft manner, making the element a center piece of interior. In a larger volume all living spaces are placed, while the smaller one comprises additional utilizable spaces. The smooth white facade in contrast with dark openings creates dynamics and elegance of the facade. Glass fences allow undisturbed views towards the beautiful scenery.” (more…)

We like how this collection is a mix and match of sort. Some are wall-attached, some have easy access from 2 sides, some are partially concealed by sliding doors and all come in a plethora of shades. Looks like they have done a good job in making a rather dull, furniture unit into an interesting, colorful piece that brings out your living space. The one caveat is that you will need quite a large room to pull this off. (more…)
