Eccentric Apartment in Cuneo, Italy

We recently received a striking apartment design from Christian Di Nicuolo and Simone Dalmasso. This beautiful and eccentric apartment is located somewhere in Cuneo, Italy. It was a complex project that involved the restoration of an attic situated in the historic center of the city of Cuneo, in Italy. The designers decided to make the most of the space they had available and they ended up by rethinking the whole structure of this place. The transformation was spectacular. Not only that the attic is now more modern but it’s also completely different from what it used to be before the restoration. The whole project is very light and bright.

Therefore was created an intermediate floor to make the bedroom; this new floor compromised the light in the spaces underneath, both for the kitchen area and the bathroom, positioned behind the kitchen wall. So a glass floor allows light to pass to the floor below, generating the effect of a bed laid down on the water. Also the stairs had to have a striking effect, not creating too much interference with the rest. A stratified glass balustrade is the protection for the stairway and the intermediate floor. The laundry with walk-in closet, is filtering the living room from the bathroom, with its particular ceiling made of glass and iron beam. The furnishings finalize this little loft, delineating the owner’s eccentricity“. It was ingenious and it allowed for an additional room to be created. What is your favorite part of the project ?
