The entertainment section is probably the most important and central part of the living room. We usually prop our TV’s up on a TV cabinet or attach them to the largest wall appropriately facing our couches. But these modern TV wall units by Italian furniture design company Alf Da Fre definitely bring in some style. They are sleek, modern, and come with a variety of layout and styling options – symmetric, asymmetric, floating cabinets, ambient tv lighting and variable color palettes. We like how this collection is a mix and match of sort. Some are wall-attached, some have easy access from 2 sides, some are partially concealed by sliding doors and all come in a plethora of shades. Looks like they have done a good job in making a rather dull, furniture unit into an interesting, colorful piece that brings out your living space. The one caveat is that you will need quite a large room to pull this off.

Since 2008, the Superbude Hotel have introduced a new hotel concept as the result of the super “re-design” by Germany-based studio Dreimeta. The six floors of a former printing house were redesigned to create a long-term home with 74 stylish double and multi-bed rooms invite you to stay a while and relax. It is very great concept where anybody who checks in here is visitor and visited, guest and host, admirer and admired, all in one, so that you will be feel staying with friends at once living in a hotel. The design idea dreamed up by 3Meta to create a weird and wonderful new purpose, sofas have been covered with used jeans, kitchen sinks made out of seamen’s chests, and old water pipes have been screwed together to create shelves and tables. In consideration of Hamburg as a harbour town, some of the furniture has been made out of pallets and thick ropes. Nordic by nature! This “re-design” represents an answer to the trend of sustainable working methods. Superbude Lounge is full of creativity, where EuroPallets and Astra beer crates which have been upholstered and transformed into cool furniture. There are loads of such design ideas for your own Superbude at home – free of charge, of course – and for that alone, the visit has been worthwhile.

Built by LEED certified materials, this Modern Penthouse was designed by Joel Sanders Architect for the client Blesso Properties in New York. A green architecture design demonstrating that you don’t have to forgo high style in the interest of saving the Earth. An Exterior wood decking and vegetation flow into the heart of the loft forming a planted core, a sustainable living green veil that screens the public living spaces and dining room from the private master bedroom. The wooden stair bulkhead doubles as a skylight and provides access to a roof terrace planted with sedum and grasses. This green core is tactile as well as a visual, so that the owner can bathe surrounded by lush vegetation visible through a glass wall that separates the bathroom from this planted zone.

Eco-friendly Living Spaces of NYC Penthouse
The rear-side of the shower bathroom is clad with modular plant panels. Overcome by a skylight, this living wall is yet another element that vertically links roof and interior. An eco-friendly palette of natural and synthetic materials confound traditional distinctions between natural and artificial. When seen from entry, the planted core merges with the living lounge so that the upholstered floor and seating evoke a textile garden, the interior counterpart to the roof terrace, where a bed of sedum defines a walk-able planted surface.
